About Me

My name is Nick Moeck, and I am a Linux professional from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have always had an interest in technology, from when my parents bought me my first computer, a Packard Bell, in the mid 90′s. I have an Associates Degree in Computer Network Systems from ITT Technical Institute in Greenfield, Wisconsin, and have worked in the IT field for the past 3 years. I have more than 5 years of experience with Linux and other UNIX-like systems.

Previous Employment

My most recent position was as the Lead Programmer and Network Administrator for a local digital signage company, where I managed a network of over 40 Linux-based digital signage displays running a custom video, advertisement and weather information content delivery system. I was also responsible for building and installing signage displays, video and audio editing, graphics production, and various other tasks related to the network.

Prior to that position, I worked as a computer technician for Friendly Computers, where I was responsible for break-fix support and general maintenance for individuals and small businesses, including businesses in the medical field.

Other positions that I have held include Shift Manager at Blockbuster, Inc., Food Service Assistant for Lawrence University Dining Services, and Crew Chief at McDonald’s. These food service and retail positions have given me excellent customer service skills, managerial skills, and an appreciation for a hard day’s work.
